An Exciting Game to say the least
An Exciting Game to say the least
The final score for the night was Penn State 3 and Stanford 2, but this was one for the books. It was a great match-up and match. Where else in the world could you watch some of the best women's volleyball players compete for over 2 hours, with an enthusiasm and skill that had to match any professional teams anywhere. The match was held in Arco arena, normally reserved for large basketball crowds. On this night, the NCAA was packed with enthusiastic fans from all over the country. Stanford and Penn State had boisterous cheering sections, but the award for loud had to go to the Nebraska fans. The fact that their team wasn't in the match didn't matter to any of them, they spent the evening having one heck of a time screaming for every great play, and there were a lot to scream for.
The tournament had its second highest attendance record on history, only beaten by last years' crowd. This was extraordinary for an event that saw three of the four quarterfinal teams coming from California.
The series is best out of five games. Games are to 30 points, and you have to win by two. If the match goes to the fifth game the last game goes to 15.
